Privacy Policy
GearIQ ("we", "us") is operated by Volatile Peak LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use https://geariq.pro, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Email address. When you sign in, sign up for free access, set a price alert, log a flip, or purchase a Pro subscription, we store the email you give us. Sign-in is by emailed link; we never store a password.
- Saved listings. If you save a listing while signed in, we store a copy of that listing's details against your account so it shows up on your other devices.
- Alerts and flips. If you create a price alert we store the search terms, category and target price. If you log a flip we store the item name, prices, fees and profit you enter.
- Payment information. Pro subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store only your email and subscription status.
- Browser storage. We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your email, saved searches and the last sport tab you viewed. This stays on your device.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps for security and debugging. These logs are retained for a limited period.
How we use it
- To provide the service: showing deals, running your searches, sending the price alerts you asked for, and keeping your flip log.
- To send you emails you requested, such as price alert notifications. We do not sell your email or send marketing on behalf of third parties.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
Cookies and tracking
When you sign in we set one cookie that identifies your session. It is only used to keep you signed in and expires after 90 days or when you sign out. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. When you click through to eBay, eBay sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Some of those cookies attribute your purchase to our eBay Partner Network account so we may earn a commission. Stripe sets cookies during checkout.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run GearIQ, and only as needed to operate it:
- Vercel hosts the site and its server logs.
- Neon stores our database, including your email, alerts and flips.
- Resend delivers price alert emails.
- Stripe processes Pro subscription payments.
- eBay and the eBay Partner Network receive your click when you open a listing.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of GearIQ and its users. We do not sell personal information.
AI agent connectors
GearIQ offers a read-only connector that AI agents such as Meta Muse, Claude or ChatGPT can use to ask for current deals and sold-price data. When an agent calls the connector we receive the query it sends (for example an item name or a set of filters) and return public listing data and our price analysis. We do not receive the agent user's identity, account details or conversation, and we do not store the queries beyond standard short-lived server logs used for security and debugging. The connector cannot take actions, make purchases or access any account. Your use of the agent itself is governed by that agent's own privacy policy.
Retention
We keep your email, alerts and flips until you ask us to delete them. Inactive price alerts may be removed after they trigger or expire.
Your choices
- You can clear browser storage at any time from your browser settings, which removes locally saved preferences.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@geariq.pro. We will respond within 30 days.
- Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other regions with privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to access, delete or port their data and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
Children
GearIQ is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with providers that maintain industry-standard security controls. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on this page.
